The Ogooué deep-sea turbidite system is located on the Gabonese margin and extends up to 500 km off the coastline. A dense vegetation due to the wet equatorial climate prevails on the Ogooue drainage basin and a strong primary productivity is observed in the waters of the Gulf of Guinea. These two features make the Ogooue system a good example to study the characteristics of organic carbon accumulation on a river-dominated ocean margin. A morpho-bathymetric analysis of the area combined with a study of seismic lines allowed us to define the architecture and the dynamic of the system.
