In this chapter, we describe the architecture of the prototype of the Green Move system. The system includes three main components: the Green Move Center, which is the server side of the application; the mobile application that is installed on the smartphone of each user of the system; and the Green e-Box, which is a device installed on each Green Move vehicle that allows the system (including the user) to interact with the vehicle. In this chapter, we describe the key functions of each component and the main interactions that occur with one another. In particular, we focus on three aspects of the architecture: (i) the mechanisms through which the Green e-Box provides a uniform interface to interact with possibly very heterogeneous vehicles...
