Hereditary hemochromatosis (HH) is the most common identified genetic disease in Europe, occurring with a prevalence of roughly one in 200 individuals (1-4). Through the advances in diagnosis and the deeper insight into the genetic background, the clinical manifestation of HH has shifted to a milder picture over the last decades (5-8). However, HH still carries an increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (9-12). Our study aims to provide current data on the clinical manifestation of HH among patients with clinically documented iron overload.
