This thesis examines the question of Information System (IS) success and looks to determine if it is possible to describe that success in terms of a ‘package’ of separate, interrelated success factors which can be identified and tracked through the use of a ‘questioning framework’. This research examines "common" models of IS success and failure and proposes, based on those models, areas that are regarded as important contributors to IS success. A framework is proposed that will allow multi-national organisations to identify success factors that are specific to their organisational context and this framework is then tested in a global IS company.
