Eines dieser Enzyme ist an der Biosynthese des psychoaktiven Wirkstoffs THC aus Cannabis beteiligt. Olivetolsäure wird mit Geranyldiphosphat bei dieser Reaktion zu Cannabigerolsäure prenyliert, dem Ausgangsstoff von THCA.
