The interaction of synaptic proteins orchestrate the function of one of the most complex organs, the brain. The multitude of molecular elements influencing neurological correlations makes imaging processes complicated since conventional fluorescence microscopy methods are unable to resolve structures beyond the diffraction-limit. The implementation of super-resolution fluorescence microscopy into the field of neuroscience allows the visualisation of the fine details of neural connectivity.
