This study aims to assess the potential of soil fertility based on mineral identification in Banggae and Eastern Banggae Subdistrict, Majene District, West Sulawesi Province. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, by identifying the minerals in the parent material and soil from thin section using polarizing microscope, quantification method for minerals percentage, and classified of nutrient potential with percentage of mineral content reduced by the percentage content of the quartz. The results showed that the dominant mineral found in the parent material and soil are pyroxene, plagioclase, hornblende, biotite, calcite, quartz and opaque, but the size of mineral are smaller than in the parent material. Potential of nutrients generated in the form of weatherable minerals are biotite, calcite, plagioclase, hornblende and pyroxene containing elements such as Mg, Ca, K, Fe and Na. Potential soil fertility in parent material currently on the moderate criteria (48% to 70%), while on the soil with middle criteria (48% to 70%) in P1L1, P2L1, P4L1, P8L1, P9L1, P10L1, P11L1 and P11L2 and good criteria (73% to 79%) in P3L1, P3L2, P4L2, P5L1, P5L2, P6L1, P7L1 and P9L2. Potential nutrient contained in the mineral is not available for plants, because it has not been supported by external factors such as the low availability of water. This study prupose to determine the effect of straw compost, gliricidia compost and phosphate rock on the dynamics of phosphorus in Ultisol. The research design use d 2 factors with 2 replications. Experiment Series I: added of rice straw compost with 3 levels doses, namely: J0 (no straw), J1 (0.75 g straw), J2 (1.50 g straw) and series II trial: added composting Gamal with 3 levels doses, namely: G0 (without gliricidia), G1 (0.75 g gliricidia), G2 (1.50 g gliricidia), with each trial is given rock phosphate 0.04 grams in 200 grams of soil samples. The results of this study showed that treatment with gamal compost is better than straw compost in increasing the availability of phosphorus. This study aims to determine the soil type at the level of sub groups on SAR land system in the Pitu Riawa district, Sidrap regency. The research method using descriptive analysis with the following steps: (1) observation and description of soil profiles in the field; (2) analysis of physical, chemical, and mineral soil; and (3) soil classification system with USDA Soil Taxonomy (1975) to the category of sub groups. The method used in the morphological observation of soil profile taken with transect by cutting the direction of the slope. There are 3 lines and 18 profiles transect observation and soil sampling to be observed in the laboratory. SAR land system in Pitu Riawa District has a characteristic morphology with altitude range in 60-130 meters above sea level, topography flat to hilly with a hollow narrow, parent material / lithology included in the Walanae Formation, Salowajo Formation, and Loka Formation that consists of sandstone, silt stone, tufa marl, clay stone, conglomerate and limestone. The results showed that climate type (Oldeman) classified as D1 type (4 wet months and 1 dry month), with an average rainfall is 1590 mm/year. The most dominant type of mineral is quartz, biotite and orthoklas with micromorphology features are nodules and concretions. The results of soil charateritic are slightly acid???neutral pH, CEC ranges from moderate???high, C-organic ranged from a low???medium, base saturation values range from medium ??? high, sandy loam, sandy clay loam, clay loam and clayey dusty texture. However, agricultural land conversion that become different non agricultural land is a phenomena in various areas which impacts the food availability. This research was conducted to know the conversion rate of agricultural land in Pinrang Regency for 10 years (2004, 2009 and 2014). The remote sensing technology and geographic information systems applied in this study used several data analysis techniques that appropriate to the research, namely: supervised classification and cross tabulation matrix. This study used Landsat 7 ETM+ imagery and Landsat 8 imagery to analyze land use conversion and SPOT6 for validation of data resulted. Agricultural land in Pinrang Regency for 2004 is 106.839,51 ha which consist of mix garden (19.865,33 ha), rice fields (50.751,82 ha), fishponds (15.940,55 ha) and dry field/field (20.281,81 ha), whereas in 2014 the agricultural land width reached 122.328,36 ha, that compound of mix garden (28.853,53 ha), rice fields (55.751,55 ha), fishponds (16.376,54 ha) and dry field/field (21.346,74 ha). During 2004-2014, the agricultural land tend to increase become 15.488,85 ha. Derived from mix garden (8.988,20 ha), rice fields (4.999,73 ha), fishponds (435,99 ha) and dry field/field (1.064,93 ha). This study aims to to analyze the mass movement that occurs in Malino Sub-Watershed based on geomorphology. The method used is ITC (International Training Centre) analysis that developed by Van Zuidam 1968. The result showed that Malino Sub-Watershed are divided into 4 morfografi, namely; structural mountains morphography, volcanic mountains morphography, volcanic hills morphography and fluvial morphography. The mass movement in the form of avalanches are common in the mountains structural morphography and volcanic hills compared to fluvial morphography. The mass movement are influenced by 35-55% slope, rainfall, lithology and soils with high clay fraction
