Pendariès The new Age of part-time employment : a new role at the start of women' s careers Part-time employment trends over the past 20 years are analyzed using INSEE's «Employment Surveys» and original data gathered from two cohorts of women. Part-time jobs have been a basic factor in the rising labor force participation rate of women. Qualitative changes in this sort of employment are studied. During the 1980's part-time jobs are more and more often held by unskilled wage-earners.
