This study comprises a detailed analysis of a series (127 catalogued pieces) of milling objects from a number of different protohistoric sites around Martigues. This study from western Provence compliments another from Lattes in the Languedoc. It considers chronological, technological and functional aspects, and allows us to trace innovations and technological developments relating to food preparation in Gallic societies from Martigues and Provence.
