Geography is taught during the third cycle of primary school to pupils who are 10 and 11 years old. According to official syllabus, this topic must allow pupils to understand the world in which they live. But due to the fact that official directives consist of an enumeration of knowledge to be acquired, the teachers are often inclined to give to their lessons the objective of learning facts rather than thinking over world understanding. Because the subject of geography is the world study, it is able to confront pupils with complex situations.
