Experimental study on the processes of vermiculitization and oxidation in trioctahedral micas. In a first part, different methods of extraction of potassium from a trioctahedral mica rich in ferrous iron (biotite) and comparatively from a magnesian mica (phlogopite) are presented. All these methods lead to a similar evolution of the following type : mica vermiculite. The oxidation of ferrous iron goes always with the extraction of potassi um, but it reaches different stages, according to the experimental conditions. Thus it seems to be difficult to attribute the exact part devolving to oxidation in the verm iculitizing evolution of micas. This result leads to examine in a second part what could be the role of an experimental selective o...
