The stela that bears the inscription K. 1238 appeared on the art market in 2006. It is noteworthy both for the quality of its manufacture and for the wealth and originality of its contents. This text in Angkorian Khmer is administrative in nature. It draws together various orders issued by the royal assembly on the legitimate ownership of different pieces of land that pass from a dignitary to members of his family. It scrupulously records the circumstances of acquisition as well as the persons involved in the transactions. The assembly's writ focuses particularly on the presentation of the properties involved.
