Over two-thirds of Rumania's relief present the hazard of mass mouvements. In the Rumanian Carpathians (27.8% of the country's surface area ), the Curvature sector and especially the Vrancea seismogenic region. Here the cretaceous and paleogenic flyschs formed dominantly of permeable and semi-permeable rocks, are affected by numerous, seisms and by climatic condition swith periods of abundant preciputation and intense human activity (exploitation of forests, grazing, etc.) The case studied in this article is a typical example of dynamic slope development in the Curvature.Les deux tiers du territoire roumain présentent un potentiel d'aléas de mouvements de terrain non négligeable.
