It is necessary to discriminate between biological resources, essential to maintain Man in life, technological resources i.e. component units of environment transformed by man owing to technical progress, economic resources which are technological resources estimated in terms of economy. The dilapidation of environment, and of natural resources it contains, can't be understood with the classical concept of economic utility. Economic rationality often leads to ecological mistakes.
