The connections between a peripheral region and its centres : the case of the East of Quebec.-The East of Quebec, on the south side of the Saint Lawrence river, has 300,000 inhabitants. From the english conquest in the eighteenth century to 1930, this region is a typical isolated area, which lives aloof from the english Canada and from the Quebec itself. With the "quiet revolution" of the sixties, the East of Quebec passes from the traditional society to the consumering one ; henceforth, the inhabitants are conscious of their economical gap.
