In an attempt to understand how do teachers select books for pupils, and what they intend to do with, pedagogically speaking, we show them 25 children’s books they could use in classroom. Among which, they have to select five books and to reject five others. The justifications they give suggest that their choices depend as well as professional than affective criterions. Beside this, books seem to be less used as a starting point to teach reading than as a literary support to another subject. However, this limited use seems to be mainly due to a lack of knowledge about characteristics in Literature, and in children’s literature in particular, rather than a will to set away children’s literature from possible teaching tools.Pour tenter de com...
