Studies about instructional processes are mostly focussed either on situation or teacher activity, but seldom on teachers’ cognitive capacities involved during instruction. By this fact, studies on instructional processes are focusing on what the latter differs from other human activities rather on what it shares with them (more precisely, language-based capacities). We will argue here that instruction is carried out in a communicative cultural learning situation, through a joint attention frame and several artefacts.
