The various ways of thinking violence at school emphasizes the existence of new cultural stakes for the educational institution. This phenomenon reveals an important professional dividing line between two groups of secondary teachers : those who want to cope with violence at school through communication and by participating in professional development schemes ; on the other hand, an another group who prefers to put the stress on the need, for school and head teachers, of authority reinforcement as well as on the necessity to strengthen an approach based on regulations in making the school board more aware and responsible.
