This paper gives the main conclusions of a research which the Education Research Centre in Athens, ordered for the Ministry of Education. We had to make an inventory of the organization modes of the evaluation of the education systems in the E. U. countries, and particularly to analyse the three main objects of the evaluation of these systems : the planning of educational policy, teachers’ work and educational institution management.
