The bachelor's thesis focuses on the CONTAINER image schema in Czech Sign Language in the context of cognitive linguistics. After a theoretical introduction focused mainly on conceptual metaphors, image schemas and iconic-metaphorical mapping in sign languages, the thesis engages in basic knowledge about the CONTAINER image schema and its function. The research part begins with determining the phonological features that help to identify the use of image schema in signs. After that the corpus of the signs of Czech Sign Language that use the CONTAINER schema is introduced. The examined signs are categorized based on their semantics fields and also according to the criteria of phonological structure
