The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of the probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum LS/07 and prebiotic inulin on the activity of β-glucuronidase, transcription nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB), myeloperoxidase (MPO), cytokine levels (IL-6, IL-8, IL-13), and counts of coliforms and lactobacilli in rats with dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) induced acute colitis.
