Democracy, Justice, and Peace in Popper's Critical Rationalism

This paper attempts to explain the relationship between the concepts of democracy, justice and peace in political thought. Popper's critical and liberalist approach toward democracy impelled us to utilize this twenties-century's political philosopher's view in explaining democracy, justice and peace. Popper's critical view in the field of philosophy of science has shown its reflection in social context. Criticizing the intellectual foundations of violence, dictatorship and authoritarianism, Popper considers the democracy based on open society as a proper ground for promoting justice and peace. On the other hand, Popper's view on peace and justice and, at a higher level, democracy, is very close to that of the international organizations engaged in promoting human rights. Therefore, Popper's critical rationalism offers an appropriate framework for explaining the relationship between democracy, justice, and peace. مقاله حاضر به دنبال تشریح رابطه مفاهیم دموکراسی، صلح و عدالت در اندیشه سیاسی است. در این بین نگرش لیبرالیستی و انتقادی پوپر به دموکراسی ما را بر آن داشت تا از رویکرد این فیلسوف سیاسی قرن 20 در توضیح مقوله‌های دموکراسی، عدالت و صلح استفاده کنیم. نگرش انتقادی پوپر در حوزه فلسفه علم بازتاب خود را در حوزه اجتماعی نشان داده است. او با نقد مبانی فکری خشونت، دیکتاتوری و اقتدارگرایی بستر مناسب برای ترویج عدالت و صلح را دموکراسی مبتنی بر جامعه باز می‌داند. از طرفی همان‌طور که در متن نشان داده شده است نگرش پوپر به صلح، عدالت و فراتر از آن دموکراسی به رویکرد نهادها و سازمان‌های بین‌المللی که مروج حقوق بشر هستند خیلی نزدیک است. از این روی عقلانیت انتقادی پوپر چارچوب مناسبی برای تبیین رابطه دموکراسی، عدالت و صلح می‌باشد
