Kidney disease is a frequent complication of congestive heart failure (CHF) and may contribute to the progression of ventricular dysfunction. Regardless of the degree of heart failure, chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases the risk of death and cardiac decompensation. Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is a known parameter of cardiac remodelling and has a higher prevalence and incidence among people with impaired kidney function.
