Prevalencia y situación actual de la obesidad

The article discusses the prevalence of obesity as a product of social representation. Its objectives are oriented to characterize obesity and to analyze the role played by social representations in its genesis. The results demonstrate the strong interdependence between the increasing prevalence of obesity as a health problem and sociocultural context that determines. To these ends, the article primarily aims to reflect on the role of social representations in the sociocultural construction about obesity, which contribute to the visibility of the sociocultural conditions that determine, prevention and comprehensive care of it
