ANALYZING TOURISM POTENTIAL AND DETERMININGSTRATEGIES: CASES OF SOME CITIES IN TURKEY

Recent years, tourism is one of the major businessareas for countries. Its effect onseveral disciplines can not be disclaimed. Becauseof analyzing this sector has ahigh importance. In this paper four cities in Turkey (Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, andMugla) are analyzed with their statistics of numberof arrivals, nights spentaverage length of stay and occupancy rates by typeand class of establishment.And according to these statistics, strategies havedetermined for these cities, andalso for Turkey. This study guides governments, investors, and tourism employeewith the determined strategies. And furthermore this paper can be a case study forinternational tourism sector
