This paper will focus on Mardin, Turkey to analysethe relation between socio-cultural boundaries and ethnic identities. Boundaries which separate communitiesfrom each other have been used as an analytical tool in socio-anthropologicalanalyses. This paper tries to find out that there is a relation between thedimensions of the boundary and the construction ofethnic identities in a diversearea. In addition to this, it examines that socio-cultural boundaries can not onlymake the differences between ethnic identities apparent but also they canoccasionally bring different ethnic groups togetherunder the same roof
