Enfoque de Gestión Universitaria en la vinculación educativa comunitaria

The increase in population density and the constant difficulties that exist in low-income urban areas means that the financial resources which the autonomous decentralized municipal government has de- signated for dealing with "invasions" of plots of land and undeveloped sectors are not sufficient to meet the needs which exist. The university shares a social responsibility to work towards meeting the indicators of quality of life indicators promoted as part of the National Plan of Living Well, through the implementation of research projects and community programs, inter-agency agreements and cultural activities amongst others. This requires an effective educational model and university management.The model is rooted in community proposals in line with the social changes that our region is experiencing.That merits a situational diagnosis that reflects the stages of population settlement, their vision and hope of permanence, promoting the participation of educational institutions to improve the quality of life of inhabitants.The university´s commitment is based on a strategy of motivating students to be aware of the social reality in their area which can be achieved by requiring their participation in all aspects of a plan for community involvement
