Mental and physical health are the most characteristical fields in which the psychological effect and results of the religious belief and practices can be observed. This study has aimed o determine the relation between the religious belief and practices with the mental health. As a result, it was found that the view based on the thesis that the religious belief and practices, especially dominant in the past, had negative affect on the mental health, is not as acceptable as it was before. In this context, it was seen that the people giving importance to their beliefs and performing the practices their beliefs require, have been experiencing positive effects on many aspects of their live
