Co-effect of pelvic special moves by birth ball and consumption of honey syrup on the severity of labor pain in nulliparous women

Introduction: One of the Stressful events in women lives is Delivery; and the management of the labor pain is an important goal of the prenatal care. A non-drug method for a pleasant delivery is the use of safe liquids and exercise. The aim of this study was the effect of pelvic special movements by birth ball and honey syrup consumption on the labor in nulliparous women.\ud Methods: In this clinical trial 70 pregnant women admitted to Lolagar hospital participated. After completing the consent form, the samples were divided randomly into two groups of intervention and control. After the beginning of the contractions, the intervention group started to do pelvic tilt movements with birth ball and drank honey syrup at the same time. The control group received routine care hospitals. The instrument used was a visual analog pain which was measured every 30 minutes. Data using statistical software spss and k2 test, Independent T-test and descriptive statistics were analyzed.\ud Results: In the intervention group, the intensity of pain was decreasing every 30 minutes during the first 90th minute of the intervention. The results of ANOVA test showed that pain intensity variations were significantly different in two groups. \ud Conclusions: The results showed that using complementary methods such as exercise and liquid consumption during childbirth can be effective in reducing pain in nulliparous women. So, it is essential for health providers to be familiar with these methods.\u
