Abstract

The study of the English language as the first foreign language in the Cuban universities has developed a process of continuous improvement, sustained in valuable investigations with concrete proposals, experimentally validated, and with pos itive results in the educational programs that include the determination of the contents, the teaching methods and the evaluation of the learning in the processes of professional's formation. The formation in the English language is linked, also, with the fundamental university processes to give answer to professors ' and students ' requirements.
