The main aim of this work is to present the most important research results in Serbian Lingistics in the field of contact and cognitive linguistics in the course of the 21st century. It was necessary to select those papers which were concerned with semantic, lexical-grammatical, contact and cognitive themes and problems, but which at the same time clearly represent the most important research tendencies and predict further investigations in the language sciences.
