Introduction. Breast cancer has the highest incidence and mortality rates of all cancers in Sao Paulo and Mexico City women with rates expected to rise due to increasing elderly populations. While mammograms could reduce the breast cancer burden, little information exists about screening behavior factors in these areas. The primary objective of this study is testing the association of socio-demographic, geographic, and health access/health status variables on mammogram screenings in elderly females in both cities.
