In this article in comparative aspects civil lyric of Lesya Ukrainka and Oleksandr Oles as writers’ reaction on status of Ukrainian nation is described. The first affair, that they tray to find (this affair may call the main matter of that time): who is their people for the state and status? The answer, that they found was usual, an usual meaning, was terrible – «slave». However, this concept wasn’t of the constant usage term, how were in majority «professional patriots». For Lesya Ukrainka and Oleksandr Oles, on the contrary, this was «alive reality». That variety of reaction can explain perception their own destinies how destiny of theirs people.
