This paper presents a working hypothesis for the development of Architectural Acoustics teaching software. The concepts and rationale underlying the development are discussed first and followed by a presentation of current first-phase two-dimensional work in progress. The paper includes mention of some of the strengths and weaknesses of this first-phase work as well as our initial thoughts and intentions about desirable features for a full three-dimensional implementation.
