In 1993 and 1994, instructors and students of architecture at several universities around the world* collaborated briefly on two “virtual design studio” projects. Using off-the-shelf technology of the time-email, CU-See-Me internet video, international conference calls, and exchange of CAD drawings, images, and Quicktime animations-this ambitious project explored the possibility of bringing together diverse members of an international design team together to collaborate on a short term (two week) project.
