NoResearch in facial age estimation has been active for over a decade. This is due to its numerous applications. Recently, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been used in an attempt to solve this age old problem. For this purpose, researchers have proposed various CNN architectures. Unfortunately, most of the proposed techniques have been based on relatively ‘shallow’ networks. In this work, we leverage the capability of an off-the-shelf deep CNN model, namely the VGG-Face model, which has been trained on millions of face images.
