This study describes the land information systems, their evolution, and the market for land information in Finland. We describe the availability and quality of price information both in urban (residential, office and industrial markets) and rural markets (arable and forest land). In addition to pure land, we also describe what statistics exist concerning of different forms of real estate. In addition to official statistics, we also made a small survey to the earlier Finnish land price studies. Although a lot of other type of information has been available for long periods of time, continuous statistics on land and real estate prices with national coverage have only been available from the first half of 1980s.
