In order to design reflectarray antennas within reasonable CPU times, fast and accurate numerical tools for the analysis of periodic multilayered structures are required. In this paper, we compare two of these numerical tools: the spectral domain method of moments based on multilayered Green?s functions (SDMOM-MGF) and the spectral domain method of moments based using matrix scattering generalized (SDMOM-GSM). Although both techniques are very similar, it is shown that the SDMOM-MGF is faster than SDMOMGSM in the cases where very thin layers are present in the multilayered substrate.
