In central hypothyroidism (CeH) free thyroxine (FT4) concentrations are low while TSH concentrations may be low, normal or even slightly elevated due to reduced bioactivity. Congenital CeH (CCeH) may be isolated or part of multiple pituitary hormone deficiency (MPHD).
