The studied leachate from the town of Cachoeira Paulista in the state of São Paulo shows the following parameter concentrations: total organic carbon (TOC = 368.6 mg C. L-1), chemical oxygen demand (COD = 3552.2 mg O2. L-1) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5 = 397.4 mg O2. L-1), which indicates low biodegradability ratio (BOD5 / COD = 0.11). Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are considered an alternative to its pre-treatment.
