OBJECTIVE: To determine the correlation between admission criteria in the Medicine Faculty of the University of Manizales (Colombia) and the variables of academic performance of the admitted students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The populationconsisted of 13 cohorts of admitted students of the Faculty between years 2000 and 2007. The considered variables of admission were basically scores in knowledge and personality tests, interviews, and in government examinations for entrance to the superior education (ICFES) and a weighed sum of these variables.
