Objective: To describe the behavior of the social determinants of health in patients with tuberculosis. Materials and methods: A descriptive study, based on the conceptual reference of the World Health Organization on the social determinants of health. Health and social residents of 273 patients were analyzed in Manizales circumstances during the year prior to diagnosis. The information came from the epidemiological profile, program records, national survey of social identification of beneficiaries and death certificate; the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used.
