La creación artística como desrealización. Novedad y virtualidad en el pensamiento estético de Ortega y Gasset

This article shows how the Avant-Garde Artist at the beginning of the 20th century represents for Ortega y Gasset above all a new artistic sensibility: the tendency to dehumanize art. This dehumanized art is a reaction against the popular romantic and naturalistic art. For this, the new art is unpopular. But this is what defines art: to dehumanize, to derealize. The essence of art is derealization, i. e., destruction of reality. This means that aesthetic object for Ortega is a metaphorical object, i. e., an irreality or virtuality. This derealized art involves the escape of reality. Art is a world out of communication with reality because is an irreality. But precisely because art is virtuality, art can increase world.Este artículo muestra cómo las vanguardias artísticas de principios del siglo XX representan para Ortega y Gasset una nueva sensibilidad: la tendencia a deshumanizar el arte. Este arte deshumanizado es una reacción contra el popular arte romántico y naturalista, por lo que se propone como nuevo arte impopular. Lo que define es el deshumanizar y su esencia es la desrealización, o sea, la destrucción de la realidad. Para Ortega el objeto estético es un objeto metafórico, a saber, una irrealidad o virtualidad; desrealizar implica la fuga de la realidad. El arte es un mundo incomunicado con la realidad porque es irrealidad. Pero precisamente porque es irrealidad, el arte puede aumentar el mundo
