Las rondas campesinas en el Perú: una breve historia

Important sectors of Peru's rural population rebelled against the "popular war" utilizing a form of social organization that arrived to the Peruvian countryside during the second half of the 1970s. The peasant leagues became an important social movement that contributed in a decisive manner to the defeat of the Shining Path insurgency. This article describes how the peasant leagues organized, spread-out and grew in Peru; another objective of this article is to show their participation in the victory of the Peruvian State over the primary insurgent group in the country.Importantes sectores de la población rural peruana se rebelaron en contra de la “Guerra popular” utilizando una forma de organización social que llegó a la campiña peruana durante la segunda mitad de 1970. Las ligas campesinas se volvieron un importante movimiento social que contribuyó de manera decisiva en la derrota de la insurgencia del Sendero Luminoso. Este artículo describe cómo las ligas campesinas se organizaron, se difundieron y crecieron en el Perú; otro objetivo de este artículo es mostrar su participación en la victoria del Estado peruano sobre el principal grupo insurgente del país
