The strokes are common worldwide, and two thirds of this pathology occurs in developing countries like Peru. However, in Latin-American level, there is not enough epidemiologic information about this disease. Currently, many researches are being developed around the world aiming to decrease the neuronal injury that is produced by ischemia- reperfusion during this pathology. For this reason, the antioxidant mechanisms have been used to decrease the damage by the free radicals from the ischemia and reperfusion processes.
