Livsåskådningars framställning : En textanalys på tre läroböckers framställning av icke-religiös respektive religiös livsåskådning.

The purpose of this study is to analyse and compare how religious and non-religious world views are described and represented in three Swedish textbooks. The main question of this study is: How do three textbooks for the first stage of religious studies in high school represent non-religious and religious world views based on the text analysis tools: ethos, modality and transitivity? The three textbooks that are being analysed and compared were produced in the years of 2000, 2002 and 2009. The textbooks are used when teaching the first stage of religious studies in Swedish high school. The text analysis that I´ve chosen to use in this study is a part of Norman Faircloughs critical discourse analysis. The critical discourse analysis is one of several different ways to approach the discourse analysis in general. The purpose of the critical discourse analysis is to create social transformation by recognizing unequal power relations. To fulfill this purpose Fairclough uses, among others, three tools to analyse texts. They are ethos, modality and transitivity. Which therefore are the tools I´ve chosen to use as well. In addition to using Faircloughs critical discourse analysis as a method, I´m using it as a theory. Therefore are my method and my theory combined. The method is the text analysis itself and the theory is what this analysis is based on. The results, analysis and the conclusions are answered by using this particular theory and method. The headline Result and analysis contains both these parts combined. Other than that this part contains general summaries and quotes from the textbooks, which are analysed by the help of these described tools. The conclusions in this study show that the textbooks tend to make sweeping statements about religious and non-religious world views. The majority of the used quotes from the textbooks also tend to present texts like they are the only truth. The fact that the quotes are subjective can tend to form and affect the students. The representation of religious and non-religious world views in the textbooks varies. Religionskunskap för gymnasiet: kurs A is the textbook that is the most concerned with defining and representing the religious and non-religious world views. The other textbooks that I´ve researched do not care about defining and presenting the different world views as much as the previous mentioned book. The religious world views are more referred to than the non-religious world view in all the researched textbooks. All of these books are also providing more space for, and are focusing more on, the religious world views rather than the non-religious world views.Uppsatsens syfte har varit att undersöka och jämföra hur tre svenska läroböcker framställer religiös respektive icke-religiös livsåskådning. Uppsatsens frågeställning var: Hur framställer tre läroböcker för gymnasiets första del i religionskunskap icke-religiös respektive religiös livsåskådning utifrån textanalysverktygen etos, modalitet och transitivitet? De tre läroböckerna som har undersökts och jämförts syftar till den första kursen i religionskunskap på gymnasiet. De är producerade åren 2000, 2002 och 2009. Läroböckerna undersöktes genom en kritisk diskursanalytisk textanalys, utarbetad av Norman Fairclough. Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys är ett av flera angreppssätt inom diskursanalys. Syftet med den kritiska diskursanalysen är att uppmärksamma ojämlika maktförhållanden. De valda textanalytiska verktyg som kommer användas för att undersöka läroböckernas framställning av religiös respektive icke-religiös livsåskådning var: etos, modalitet och transitivitet. Uppsatsens metod och teori fungerar som en paketlösning i den kritiska diskursanalysen och separeras inte från varandra i uppsatsen. Genom uppsatsens metod och teori har resultatet, analysen och slutsatserna arbetats fram. I kapitlet Resultat och analys är just resultat och analys kombinerade. Kapitlet innehåller sammanfattningar och citat ur läroböckerna som analyseras utifrån de nämnda textanalytiska verktygen. Resultatet och analysen slogs ihop till ett kapitel som består av generella sammanfattningar av hela läroböckerna där citat har lyfts ur läroböckerna och analyserats utifrån uppsatsens teori. Textanalysen visar slutsatser om att de tre läroböckerna tenderar till att generalisera om livsåskådningar i sina texter. De visar även ansatser till att presentera text som om det vore den enda sanningen, vilket kan påverka och forma elevernas bild av religiösa respektive icke-religiösa livsåskådningar. Ytterligare slutsats som drogs var att de tre läroböckerna lägger olika stor vikt vid att framställa och definiera religiös respektive icke-religiös livsåskådning. Läroboken Religionskunskap för gymnasiet: kurs A är den lärobok som lägger störst vikt vid att definiera religiös respektive icke-religiös livsåskådning. Den livsåskådning som får störst plats i de tre läroböckerna och som redogörs för mest är religiös livsåskådning.
