HIV transfer between CD4 T cells does not require LFA-1 binding to ICAM-1 and is governed by the interaction of HIV envelope glycoprotein with CD4-6

ICAM-3, total LFA-1, the activated form of LFA-1 and CD4. Staining of the cell surface molecules was performed using monoclonal antibodies RM3A5, 140.11, R7.1, mAb24 and Leu3a respectively. The expression of HIV Env was evaluated in MOLT cells using pooled serums from HIV infected individuals. Figure shows the expression of each individual antigen (empty peaks) with the negative control of staining (solid peaks).
