<div><h3>Background</h3><p>Evaluation of a quick and easy model to determine the intrinsic ability of clinical strains to generate active TB has been set by assuming that this is linked to the fitness of <em>Mycobacterium tuberculosis</em> strain at the innate phase of the infection.
