<p>Three distinct domains can be distinguished in the yeast PM: stable MCC domains (green) surrounded by a membrane covered with a dynamic network of cortical ER (red) and the PM free of cortical ER coverage (blue). Vesicle transport can take place only in the ER-free PM.</p
