Sex-dependent expression of Oat1 and Oat3 in rat cortical kidney slices.

<p>Levels of β-actin, Hprt1, Oat1 and Oat3 were analyzed by TaqMan® real-time PCR in total RNA isolated from four male and four female cortical kidney slices. The mRNA expression of reference genes β-actin and Hprt1 were investigated by comparing their Ct values between male and female (2A). Levels of Oat1 and Oat3 were determined using 2^−ΔΔCt method, at which β-actin was the reference gene (2B). ΔΔCt values were calculated as ΔCt male - ΔCt female. n_male = 4; n_female = 4.
