<p>Levels of β-actin, Hprt1, Oat1 and Oat3 were analyzed by TaqMan® real-time PCR in total RNA isolated from four male and four female cortical kidney slices. The mRNA expression of reference genes β-actin and Hprt1 were investigated by comparing their Ct values between male and female (2A). Levels of Oat1 and Oat3 were determined using 2<sup>−ΔΔCt</sup> method, at which β-actin was the reference gene (2B). ΔΔCt values were calculated as ΔCt male - ΔCt female. n<sub>male</sub> = 4; n<sub>female</sub> = 4.</p
